The names of the ancient Yemeni swords and some of their suffering in the light of Arab sources and archaeological evidence.
The study of the names of the ancient Yemeni sword gives the reader a clear idea of its types and names in the pre -Islamic period, including the ignorant era, in which it was mentioned, the most famous of which is at all, especially what was mentioned in the pendants and collections and its significance. The researcher tried to limit it by tracking it in Arab sources, as well as tracking and extrapolating the old Yemeni inscriptions that have been discovered so far. Perhaps the various types of weapons that were common in the Islamic era are mainly derived from the traditions of the arms industry that were known in the pre -Islam period. Given the multiplicity of the use of the iron sword; This weapon had an important position between all other weapons and the warfare equipment that the ancient Yemenis were carrying in their solution and their departure. The archaeological evidence indicated that they were analyzing their handles with bronze and silver, and sometimes with gold and ivory for decoration, and they usually have covers made of leather and wood. The matter reached its climax in the pre -Islamic era, whose poets went on to praise their characteristics, the quality and mastery of its manufacture and good decoration. Each sword in itself carried a name indicating an adjective in which it is distinguished from others.
