Burns and wounds remain a common and difficult challenge to surgeons, particularly plastic surgeons. Although various forms of dressings have been introduced and used, the selection of a particular type is not well established and is still a matter of personal judgment. Shifts in the age pattern of our society, which suggest an increase in the number of chronic wounds as well as the current budget restrictions in the public health field call for cost efficient and effective treatments. The higher healing rate by using silver clear helps prevent follow up costs, the duration of inpatient therapy and may be a substantial support for our public health system. The aim of this study, which was done for fifty patients of different ages, sex and cause is to treat difficult cases, especially those who have been treated previously without success. Case studies showed marked improvements in efficacy with silver clear compared with the treatment methods previously used. Initial debridement and antimicrobial therapy if infection is present help in wound healing with silver clear, which is applied directly to the wound. If the wound is with heavy exudates, the silver can be applied every 1-3 days, if it is with low or none exudates, it can be applied every 3-5 days.
